There is a man at our church this week who is my hero today. Because he is willing to step outside his comfort zone and be willing to Let God use him. And he is scared to death. But he's going to do it anyway.I remeber reading a verse about God searching accross the Earth for one man who is willing..... I digress.....You see Every year at Crossroads we do a family Carnival in September. We put it in on and stock it with games giant inflatables, food and fun and we open it up to the whole community (with an emphasis on those who don't particularly dig the Chirst Culture) with only one thing in mind. To allow people to come and enjoy a day of good times on us. We don't preach, we don't take money, no Bible whacking or nothing. I bet if you slipped in the side you might not even know it was put on by a church. But we do it to love people and we figure if they can hang out with some of the amazing people at Crossroads they might be inclined to continue searching. Anyway some of the Carnival Stories in the past of Crossroader servants and sacrifice have been amazing. People who have given up cruises and vacations to work at, people who have forsaken their anniversaries and served at it. People have come to the Carnival then came back to experience Crossroads Accepted Christ and gone on to serve others. It takes about 500 people to pull off what we are planning to do this year. We promise people allot of work, some sunburn and a smile. Anyway one of the coolest stories about the Carnival you'll hear this weekend if your at Crossroads. Lynn Brooks a guy who serves diligently at Crossroads is going to tell his Carnival story. The cool part is that Lynn really is a behind the scenes guy,... way behind... Lynn would give you the shirt off his back and shoes at the same time, just don't ask him to do it in front of people. Being in front of people petrifies Lynn, I'm talking shaking in my shoes, you don't understand what I'm talking about here petrifying... ( those are Lynn's word's) And yet this weekend Lynn is going to do the very thing that scares him the most, he is going to get up in front of around a thousand people and tell them why it matters to Love people like no tomorrow and how important being a servant is and what a difference a day can make on a single person and a family. How a day can change forever. I hope in the times when God calls me to do the thing that scares me more than anything that I have the heart Lynn does. I applaud you Lynn.I can't wait to see what God is going to do!
YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
