New Eyes

This is Jake. He is running lights in our Kid Crossing area under the direction of Chuck"The Man" Fick. Last weekend was his first weekend. He showed us about 5 places we could do what we are doing better. I LOVE that! It is really easy to stop seeing. Today look around.. find something you have never noticed or look at something around you with new eyes.

Stories

Twice a year at Crossroads we do True Crossroads Stories. We shoot and edit people's stories of how they are living out their relationships with God. Sunday night the crew spent the evening shooting in our "video space" that was graciously lent to us by my wife's boss.  Jason Ely is our head video  guy at Crossroads and he is pouring what he knows into two younger dudes named Zach and Scott.( who always blow me away with their creativity and skills.) The greatest thing about hanging out with the younger generation is that risk is no issue with them, they will take any chance to do something cool and a lot of times what might be perceived as a mistake by some is turned into art by them.  I love to sit back and watch these guys do their thing. Its like poetry in motion.  If your in the area on the 24th of February come by, cuz these stories...man... God is changing lives. ( ps the purple on the green screen is from some kids fingerpainting the night before.. we weren't trying a new effect!)

Closer Please

Brian may kill for saying anything but I am very excited. We are getting very close to rolling out our new website.. and it is going to be slamming! Its going to be a great tool for our community in reaching people for God and helping them on their journey. So give Brian and his web team a hug (Ben,Linda,Deb, Doug with input from Jonathon)... a big hug when you see em.

This is my favorite "foto" from Christmas at Crossroads. Every year for the last few years we have done Joy To The World is some rocked out fashion with all the techs and characters on stage. So So So

So I gave all the interns the week off since Christmas was so over the top in terms of production. I wanted to wait to talk about what we did until I could show some visuals. In the meantime I finished some pretty cool stuff this week. I read the book, The Divine Mentor by Wayne Cordiero. Rocks! A really good look at how to use the people in the bible as mentors in your life and what journaling and daily bible study can do for you. I've put it into practice ( the journaling part) and I'm seeming to become more aware of how God Talks to us through the Bible. Everything is Spiritual came out and I got it as a Christmas Present ( thanks Cindy and Marv!) I was able to see it live in Detroit and watching it again on DVD did not disappoint. I leave you with a piece of media we ran for an upcoming Kid Fusion. The guy in the video is named Eric and is one of the most interesting people I know.

Christmas is coming

Got to hang out with the creative folks tonight and start to plan out Christmas. It was very cool and some great stuff got thrown out ( along with a ton of laughs). The board is what we ended up with after the brain dump.
