My blog has been dead for a while. Mainly because I was tired of listening to myself wax poetic and I felt like I was just adding noise to peoples lives. The information I had people could draw from a myriad of places. In the last few weeks something has been dawning on me. I have realized that there are certain people that I specifically look to for influence, inspiration and information. And on the same hand I have realized that God has put people in my life that look to me for that same influence, inspiration and information. Regardless of where else it exists I search out certain people for validation or whatever reason, and there appears to be people who do the same with me. So I'm going to start blogging again, but from an entirely different perspective.
So the question becomes.. who do you look to? And who looks at you?
Sounds good Pete I find that I only follow blogs and people's twitters to find out more about my line of work that I want to get into. But ether way Pete I am going to read your blog weather it has something good or not.

Hey Pete, just to let you know that I am one who has influenced me. Not only from what you blog but from what you do. No pressure intended but you are just someone who people look up to. You encourage people with your words and your actions. As you say it to so many people let me just be one that says it back...You Rock!!!

I too have been in a listening mode.
The older I get the more I realize that not only can people get what I have to say elsewhere, but that what I have to say today I will think is dumb tomorrow (or at least in a couple years).
But yes, I can see that as breadcrumbs along a path, the words I speak now may help someone find the same path I have followed.
More and more I look to the spiritual fathers of the church. Of those I have read so far the best starting point is St. Athanasius' "On the Incarnation." It makes the Gospel so clear and easy to understand. It'll change your perspective.

Glad you're back Pete man - your insight is always refreshing and transparent. While sharing is time consuming - it's also therapeutic - helps you grow!
