I love things that are excellent! Things that look excellent, sound excellent, feel excellent, experience as excellence. Mmmm... There is just something about it that resonates with me ( even though I'm sure excellence is subjective) How do you become excellent? You just do it.Right Now. Then you spend the rest of your life working on it. You'll take classes, learn about it, and at first it will be a fuzzy picture of the end result but over time it will become clear. The first 99% of getting there is is the determination to do it and not compromise. The rest of the 99 % is working like crazy to keep your focus and attitude in check, not get stale and continue learning, practice until it comes natural, and weather the storms. This holds true for everything I can think of, from musicians to pastors to doctors to check out clerks from relationships to hope. How long does it take to become or attain excellence? One Second. But it takes a lifetime of passion and heart and determination to pursue it.
